Winnipeg Police Officer Faces Two Charges

WINNIPEG, MB. – A Winnipeg Police officer is on administrative leave after being charged.

On Monday, November 26 an off duty Winnipeg Police officer was arrested in the West Kildonan area for Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired.

The officer was released on a Promise to Appear.

Michael Richard Hawley, 49-years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle and Refuse Breathalyzer.

The officer was also charged with Unsafe Storage of a Firearm and Unsafe Storage of a Magazine under the Consolidated Firearms Act.
