Violent Assault Suspect Wanted

WINNIPEG, MB - Winnipeg police believe this man, Vincent Thompson, is involved in a violent assault on a woman in the city on February 24th and they want the public's help finding him.

Police said the attack happened on February 24, around 6:15 in the morning near Magnus Avenue between Chudley Street and Buller Avenue. A woman was struck repeatedly with a machete causing her to fall the ground. She was then kicked in the head, face and upper body and again struck with a machete.

The suspect has been identified as:

Vincent Rupert Thompson, 29-years-old. He is described as 6' tall, approximately 170 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Police are warning people not to approach him, but rather contact police immediately.
