Police Investigating Two Serious Accidents

WINNIPEG - Winnipeg Police are investigating two collisions on July 31 that resulted in serious injuries to two women.

On July 31 just before 2:00 in the afternoon, Emergency Services responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at the cross-walk located on Sargent Ave. at Simcoe St.

An adult female was crossing Sargent Ave. when she was struck by a westbound vehicle. She was transported to hospital where she remains in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene and may face charges pending the outcome of the investigation.

Investigators are looking for witnesses to this collision and are asking them to call the Traffic Division at 204-986-7085.

As well, on July 31 at approximately 11:45 p.m., Emergency Services responded to a single-vehicle collision on the Midtown Bridge involving a motorcycle. An adult female passenger was transported to hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

The Midtown Bridge was closed to traffic for approximately 13 hours while Traffic Collison Investigators analyzed the scene.
