Drugs, Weapons, & Cash Found

WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Tactical Unit and RCMP from East St. Paul seized drugs, bullet proof vests, sawed-off shotgun, cash and more from two separate homes in the East St. Paul and Lord Roberts area.

Police executed warrants at two residences in the East St. Paul and Lord Roberts area. They seized a number of items from the first home, in the100 block of Eagle Creek Drive, East St. Paul that included:

  • 1 kilogram of cocaine (estimated street value of $60,000)
  • $45,000 in Canadian currency
  • 2 ballistic "bulletproof" vests
  • A prohibited ammunition magazine
  • Cutting agent
  • Money counter
  • Multiple mobile phones

From the home in the 600 block of Rosedale Avenue, Winnipeg, police seized:

  • 2,500 pieces of crack cocaine (estimated street value of $62,500)
  • 13 pounds of marijuana (estimated street value of $26,000)
  • 105 single-gram packages of cannabis resin (estimated street value of $8,400)
  • $5,000 in Canadian currency
  • Sawed-off shotgun
  • Ammunition
  • Multiple mobile phones

Police took two men into custody:

Matthew David Bachinski, a 36-year-old man from East St. Paul, who has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
  • Possess body armour without a valid permit (x2)

And, Ian Douglas Francis Loudon, a 36-year-old man from Winnipeg, who has been charged with:

  • Produce a Scheduled Substance - Cannabis Resin
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cannabis (Marijuana)
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cannabis Resin
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
