Arrests Made in Winnipeg Shooting

WINNIPEG, MB – Three people have been charged in a February shooting at a home in the 500 block of Chalmers Avenue in Winnipeg.

Police said they found a 33-year-old male was with numerous gunshot wound injuries. He was taken to hospital in unstable condition.

Police have determined three male suspects went to the victim’s home. The victim saw a firearm and tried to retreat, however, the suspects were able to force their way inside and shoot the victim several times. The suspects then ransacked the home and stole several items before taking off.

Winnipeg Police have made three arrests in connection to this shooting:

Brian Wayne Chief, a 36-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

  • Attempt to Commit Murder
  • Armed Robbery using a Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Use of Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence
  • Transport Firearm Contrary to Regulations
  • Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order

Daniel Kevin Johnston, a 33-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

  • Attempt to Commit Murder
  • Armed Robbery using a Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Use of Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Discharge a Prohibited Firearm with Intent
  • Transport Firearm Contrary to Regulations
  • Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order (x3)
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Jesse Bailley Lee Gladue, a 27-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Attempt to Commit Murder
  • Armed Robbery using a Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Use of Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence
  • Transport Firearm Contrary to Regulations
  • Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x3)
