A Customer Was Stabbed During Store Robbery in Winnipeg

WINNIPEG, MB – A 38 yer old customer of a convenience store was stabbed during a robbery last evening just before 9:00PM.

Police said the victim was at a convenience store, located in the 100 block of Isabel Street, when he was stabbed to his upper body. He was taken to hospital where he remains today,

The suspect went to the convenience store and because of a previous encounter, he was asked to leave by an employee. The suspect grabbed two drinks and attempted to run out of the store when a customer intervened. The customer tried to hold on to the suspect which is when he was stabbed once in the upper body by an unknown person. Both suspects fled on foot.

The Winnipeg police K-9 unit was able to track one suspect in the area.

The employee noted that the arrested suspect was responsible for a theft from the store on February 22, 2018.

Ermiyas Isaac Dangerfield, 20-years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Theft Under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking X2
