WINNIPEG - The City of Winnipeg is warning drivers of delays in traffic as work begins this week on the St. Vital Bridge.
The $52 million project will resurface the bridge and widen pathways on each side of it to make more space for pedestrians and cyclists.
However, some are upset because the speed limit will drop to 60 kilometres an hour from 70.
Area city councillor Brian Mayes says 60 is the modern standard and a much more expensive renovation would be required to keep the posted speed at 70.
