Winnipeg's Homeless Veterans Get Homes

Homeless Veterans Get Homes

WINNIPEG - The City of Winnipeg has donated land to Homes for Heroes so temporary housing can be built for homeless veterans.

The Winnipeg Kinsmen Veterans' Village will consist of 20 tiny homes on an acre of land.

It's estimated there are about 160 homeless veterans living on the streets of Winnipeg.

Homes for Heroes says there will also be on-site councillors to help residents integrate back into the community.

Construction is set to begin next spring with the village opening in the summer of 2023.
