WINNIPEG - The Assiniboine Park Zoo in Winnipeg is bringing in a COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
It begins on Monday as evidence mounts that people can transmit the virus to animals.
Zoo visitors 12 years old and up will need to show proof of vaccination to get in and staff and volunteers must also be vaccinated against COVID.
In the US, some zoo animals have contracted the virus and died from it.
Experts say big cats, primates, bats and weasels are the most susceptible to infection.
