WINNIPEG - Winnipeg Transit has announced a new on-request service that allows riders to order a bus very close to them.
Mayor Brian Bowman says he hopes the pilot project will get more people using public transit.
It launches on August 12th and will run for about a year. You can download the app starting August 6th.
The service will operate in three zones currently covered by dial-a-ride. They are 101 St. Amant-Plaza Drive, 102 Southdale-Island Lakes and 110 St. Boniface-Norwood.
The project comes with a price tag of $140,000.
