Winnipeg Restaurants Hit With $40K In COVID Fines

Restaurants Fined $40K

WINNIPEG - Two restaurants in Winnipeg have been hit with $40,000 in COVID-19 fines.

Monstrosity Burger and the Tuxedo Village Family Restaurant, which operate from the same location on Corydon Avenue, have been allowing unmasked and unvaccinated customers to eat inside for weeks.

The province has closed the dining room because public health orders were being violated.

Pickup and delivery at the restaurants is still allowed.

The owners say the action is discriminatory.

Four other businesses have been fined for COVID violations, including three stores in Winkler.
