WINNIPEG - A K9 officer with the Winnipeg Police Service is recovering after being injured by another dog.

Officers were executing a search warrant in Hanover when the dog went after Mack.

A 90 pound dog attacked Mack and he as his fellow cops were approaching a building.

Officers couldn't get the attacking dog to stop so they shot it.

Mack was taken to a veterinarian with non-life threatening injuries to his face and shoulder.

A 30 year old man was arrested.

The Independent Investigations Unit of Manitoba has been notified about the incident.
