Winnipeg Oil Pail

Winnipeg Oil Pail

WINNIPEG - In the 1910s, Winnipeg was home to a small oil manufacturer and importer called the Prairie Cities Oil Company.

The history of this company is not readily available, and it’s unclear if the company spawned from Alberta’s oil manufacturing company of the same name.

This company was managed by A E. Lewis in 1912, and was home to illuminating and lubricating oils, greases and specialties.

Trinkets related to this company are extremely rare, regardless of their condition.

This rusted oil pail adorned with the company’s logo is sure to remind anyone to never pass a glance on old oddities, because it sold on eBay for almost $600!
