Cyclist Hurt In Hit & Run

WINNIPEG - A cyclist is in hospital in critical condition after a collision with a vehicle in Winnipeg early Wednesday morning.

The man in his 30s was struck at the intersection of Erin Street and Sargent Avenue at about 5 a.m.

An initial investigation has determined the the vehcile was a garbage truck which drove away after the mishap.

The Traffic Division is asking for the public's help identifying the truck and its driver. If you can help, please call 204-986-7085.




Serious Motor Vehicle Collision – Public Assistance: C22-105025

Early this morning, at approximately 5:00 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist at the intersection of Erin Street and Sargent Avenue.

Officers located a seriously injured male in his thirties. He was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he remains.

An initial investigation indicates the cyclist was struck by a garbage truck at this intersection, which subsequently drove away.

Investigators from the Traffic Division seek the public’s assistance in identifying the truck and the driver. Anyone with information that can assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-7085.
