WINNIPEG - A peace activist who was born in Winnipeg is dead after she was believed to have been taken hostage during the Hamas attack in Israel on October 7th.
Vivian Silver's son says Israeli authorities told him the remains of his 74 year old mother were found in the kibbutz where she lived but they are only being identified now.
Chen Zeigen told reporters in Ottawa last month that his mom was moved to Israel in 1974.
He said she dedicated her life to building peace and fostering understanding between Israelis and Palestinians.
