WINNIPEG - A handful of Winnipeg neighbourhoods will see reduced speed limits this spring as part of a pilot project.
Two of the neighbourhoods are Worthington in St. Vital and Richmond West. Both will get a reduction to 40 kilometres per hour from 50.
In Tyndall Park South, the trial speed limit will drop to 30 kilometres per hour. 30 will also be the max on a section of St. James around the Bourkevale Community Centre.
The test follows a 2020 report by the city's public service, as well as a provincial bill in the spring of 2019 that allows municipalities to set their own speed limits.
