WINNIPEG – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his cabinet will spend today and tomorrow behind closed doors.

They’ll hear presentations from Canada’s top public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam and the co-chairs of two federal task forces on COVID-19.

This two day retreat comes as coronavirus cases are rising across the country so the Trudeau government may have to refocus its attention on surviving a second wave rather than long-term rebuilding.

Parliament resumes next Wednesday with a throne speech from the Liberals.
