This rush to get tested follows warnings of possible coronavirus exposures at schools, restaurants, buses and elsewhere.
A good chunk of the new cases of late have been in Winnipeg.
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority says all four of its testing sites reached capacity by the early afternoon.
There are now nine COVID-19 outbreaks at nine personal care homes across the province.
