Statues Toppled At Leg

WINNIPEG - A Canada Day march ended at the Manitoba Legislature yesterday with vandalism.

Some of the people who took part in the memorial walk for residential school victims used ropes to pull down two statues including this one of Queen Victoria which is covered in red paint handprints.

They also pulled a statue of Queen Elizabeth off its base at the Leg.

Winnipeg police are investigating.
