Staff At Winnipeg Lab Work From Home

Lab Staff Work From Home

WINNIPEG - Employees at the National Microbiology Laboratory who can work remotely have been asked to do that. The request is in response to the high number of COVID-19 cases.

The Public Health Agency of Canada says workers who can work from home will do their jobs from there starting today and for at least the next three weeks.

The lab does research locally at two sites, the Canadian Science Centre for Human and Animal Health and the Wilt Infectious Disease Research Centre.

It's hoped this move will protect the lab's essential workforce conducting critical diagnostic and laboratory research.

Winnipeg is home to Canada's only level four lab which means it works with the most serious and deadly diseases.
