Restaurants Want Tax Break

WINNIPEG - At city hall today, mayor Brian Bowman's executive policy committee is scheudled to look at reducing business taxes for local restaurants.

The motion would cut the taxes in half for several months for independently owned eateries.

Restaurants hope to pay lower taxes from June to November or until the province eliminates social distancing in restaurants.

The proposal would need to advance to all of council for a final vote there.
