Priest Says Sorry For Comments

Priest Says Sorry For Comments

WINNIPEG - Rheal Forest, a priest at St. Emile Catholic Church in Winnipeg, has apologized for comments he made during a recent sermon.

He said residential school survivors lied about their experiences to get more money.

Forest also said students enjoyed residential schools and the media is evil.

His archdiocese has disavowed what he said and he's no longer allowed to preach or teach.

Arlen Dumas, Grand Chief of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs says the church has a lot more work to do on reconciliation.

Ha calls what was said despicable.
