Police Won’t Investigate

WINNIPEG – After a preliminary assessment, Winnipeg police have determined an investigation isn’t required at this time into what happened recently at Maples personal care home.

Early last month, paramedics were called to the home where two residents were found dead and three others were taken to hospital. Seven residents were treated at Maples. In total, eight people died at the home in 48 hours.

Since then, COVID-19 has killed dozens of seniors at Maples and other long-term care homes in Manitoba.
