WINNIPEG - The union representing the city's paramedics is demanding the immediate removal of its members from fire halls.
In a letter to mayor Brian Bowman, MGEU president Michelle Gawronsky says the working environment has become unsafe, accusing firefighters of threatening her members.
Last fall, a paramedic accused two firefighters of refusing to help a seriously injured Indigenous woman.
The firefighters were placed on administrative leave after an outside investigation but earlier this week, their union put out a memo saying they would be returning to work.
