WINNIPEG - Families members of two slain First Nations women whose remains are believed to be in a Winnipeg landfill say a meeting yesterday in Ottawa was disappointing.
They say they expected Crown-Indigenous Relations Minister Gary Anandasangaree to tell them that the federal government would fund a search of the landfill.
Cambria Harris says there was no such promise and the meeting was a retraumatizing experience.
Families, supporters and organizations including Amnesty International Canada took part in demonstrations across Canada yesterday for International Day of Action to Search the Landfills.
