WINNIPEG - New Flyer Industries says the Toronto Transit Commission has awarded it a five year contract for at least 186 electric buses.
The bus manufacturer says the deal also includes an option for the TTC to buy up to 435 more of the 40 foot buses.
New Flyer says these next generation buses are heavy duty and will help the TTC meet its goal of converting its entire fleet to zero emissions by 2040.
Toronto's transit system operates one of the biggest fleets of battery-powered buses in North America.
