WINNIPEG - A report to the water, waste and environment committee says a man accused of smashing buildings and vehicles with an excavator at Winnipeg's water treatment plant earlier this month did between four and five million dollars in damage.
RCMP officers climbed aboard the excavator and eventually got the man to stop but they say he resisted arrest and assaulted them.
The city report says one maintenance building sustained significant structural damage and a total of 15 vehicles will likely be written off.
The report also says several pieces of heavy equipment were damaged.
