Death Toll Hits 50

WINNIPEG - The province is reporting two more COVID-19 fatalities today, along with 153 new cases. Both the deaths are women in their 70's from Winnipeg. One is linked to the outbreak at Misericordia Place. The Manitoba death toll from coronavirus is now 50.

Of today's 153 new cases, 91 are in the Winnipeg health region. There are 24 in the Southern region. There are 15 cases each in the Northern and Interlake/Eastern regions. And there are eight cases in the Prairie Mountain region.

1,922 cases are active. 2,116 people have recovered. The total number of cases so far is 4,088.

65 people are in hospital including 10 in intensive care.

The provincial five day test positivity rate is unavailable today but it was 6.5 per cent yesterday. Daily testing numbers also aren't available but yesterday 2,642 people had been tested in the previous 24 hours for a total of 236,023 since the pandemic began.
