WINNIPEG - Kevin Lamoureux, the Liberal MP for Winnipeg North, has been fined by the federal elections commissioner for running social media ads on voting day.
He's been ordered to pay $300.
Lamoureux ran seven re-election ads on Facebook and Instagram on October 21, 2019, even though there was a ban on advertising that day because it was election day.
The commissioner lowered the baseline penalty of $500 because Lamoureux was so cooperative.
