WINNIPEG - New Flyer Industries has laid off 30 of its Winnipeg workers just a few weeks after getting a $50 million loan from the Manitoba government.
The bus manufacturer says it hopes the layoffs are temporary and it may grow its workforce later this year.
The company says it has been severely affected by COVID-19, supply chain issues and inflation, losing $230 million dollars since the start of the pandemic.
New Flyer employs about 2,500 people here.
