HYDRO LAYOFFS COMING

WINNIPEG - Manitoba Hydro says it will begin issuing temporary layoffs today.

This after the crown corporation failed to come to agreement with union officials on CoVid-19 cost reductions.

About 200 workers will be laid off for four months. That's down from the 700 layoffs being talked about originally.

Hydro president and CEO Jay Grewel says this wasn't the preferred course of action.
