WINNIPEG - A developer's bid to buy John Blumberg Golf Course has been voted down by Winnipeg's Property and Planning Committee.
A Steinbach company is offering $13 million for the 200 acres so housing can be built.
But Property and Planning voted 3-1 against a motion to sell the land.
It's now up to Executive Policy Committee and then two-thirds of full council would need to vote in favour of the sale for it to go forward.
The property has been deemed surplus by the city, but Headingley mayor John Mauseth hopes the greenspace can be saved.
