WINNIPEG - The province is promising housing for 250 homeless Winnipeggers.
Families minister Rochelle Squires has announced $2.5 million in funding for the Manitoba Non-Profit Housing Association over the next two years.
The association, which represents dozens of agencies, will work with other groups to refer people in need of housing to programs that can help them with meals, addiction treatment, job training and mental health support.
End Homelessness Winnipeg says housing is needed for more than 1,500 people.
