WINNIPEG - A Winnipeg man is dead following the collision of a pickup truck into the back of a semi-truck this weekend.
Manitoba RCMP Traffic Services says a pickup truck travelling eastbound along the Perimeter Hwy. near its intersection with St. Anne's Rd. crashed into the back of the semi-trailer, which had stopped for a train crossing.
The 51-year-old driver of the pickup truck was taken to the Health Sciences Centre by STARS Air Ambulance. The RCMP say the man succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
The driver of the semi-truck driver and a 23-year-old passenger, both from Winnipeg, were uninjured in the crash.
Mounties say they’re continuing the investigation with the help of a forensic collision reconstructionist.
