WINNIPEG - Police say a man died over the weekend in Winnipeg after he was shot by one of their officers.
They say it happened when officers were conducting a traffic stop at Portage Avenue and Bourkevale Drive on Saturday at about 7:30 p.m.
Police say one of the cops fired a gun, hitting the adult male driver of the car.
The man was transported to hospital in critical condition but did not survive.
The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba has taken control of the case.
