City Projecting $400K Deficit

WINNIPEG – The city is out with its latest financial report and things are actually looking better than you might expect.

Thanks to federal funding and other measures to counter the impact of COVID-19, Winnipeg is projecting a deficit of only $400,000,

The city got over $42 million from Ottawa’s Safe Restart Agreement.

Overall, there’s an operating surplus of more than $26 million for all departments.

Winnipeg Transit is also expecting a surplus of $3.3 million.
