WINNIPEG - The City of Winnipeg says it’s reopening some of its pools and gyms, and will offer some indoor programs once again — but with limited capacity.
The city says services at indoor fitness centres will be reduced, and the indoor pools will only offer public swimming, lane swimming, fitness classes, and sports groups. Site capacity is capped at 25 per cent, and the city says it will be enforcing physical distancing requirements.
Included in the reopening are Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex, Fort Rouge Leisure Centre, Freight House Rec Centre, Pan Am Pool, Peguis Trail Health and Fitness Centre, St. James-Assiniboia Centennial Pool and Fitness Centre, and Sgt. Tommy Prince Place.
Reserving time slots at fitness centres and indoor pools prior to arrival is recommended, either online or by calling 311, as the city says there’s no guarantee that blocks will be available for drop-in registration.
The fitness centres and indoor pools and programming are set to open up on Monday.
Jumping the gun again.
We do not need gyms for exercise. We've the whole outdoors. Juggle times between smoke events. We do.
