WINNIPEG - The City of Winnipeg was billed for over $1 million worth of tows that it says never happened.
However, a report to the mayor's executive policy committee is recommending city council approve a legal settlement with Tartan Towing for less than half of the total to be repaid over two years.
Councillor Janice Lukes wants to know why the city is not going after all of the money.
he report says if council does not approve the settlement, the city could sue Tartan but if it goes to trial, it would cost money and take time to litigate the case.
