WINNIPEG - The City of Winnipeg has confirmed a tentative agreement has been reached with the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 500.
CUPE which represents 4,300 civic workers says the deal avoids a possible strike.
The union broke the news of the agreement on Monday but the city said negotiations were ongoing.
The city now says if the union’s membership votes yes, the settlement will be presented to council for its consideration.
