City Of Winnipeg Announces Vaccine Mandate

City Vaccine Mandate

WINNIPEG - The City of Winnipeg will require frontline workers who work with vulnerable people to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

This will include employees who come in contact with children under 12 years old.

City CAO Michael Jack says they will identify the specific positions soon ahead of the November 15th deadline for vaccination.

Workers who choose not to get inoculated might have to undergo frequent testing or be deployed to a role that doesn't deal with others directly.

The province announced a similar vaccine mandate a few weeks ago.

City councillors are elected and not under Jack's management so they aren't impacted by this.
