WINNIPEG - A judge has rejected a Winnipeg church's application to be allowed to hold drive-in services.
Lawyers for Springs Church argued in court today that drive-in services are no different than sitting in a lineup at a fast food drive-thru or waiting in your car for curbside pickup at a store.
However, attorneys for the province said the public health orders banning all religious gatherings are in place right now to save lives.
So if Springs opts to hold drive-in church services tomorrow, it's likely tickets and fines will be issued again like in the past.
Whether all this violates the charter of rights and freedoms will likely be decided sometime in the future.
