WINNIPEG - The Chief of a Manitoba First Nation says she expects to meet today with Winnipeg's Police chief about searching a landfill outside the city for the remains of two Indigenous women believed to be the victims of an alleged serial killer.
Long Plain’s Kyra Wilson says there is also a meeting this week to form a committee of experts to put together a search plan including a budget after police decided not to look in the landfill.
She says they are speaking with the landfill as well as forensics and archeological experts.
Indigenous groups say they are considering their own study into a potential search of the landfill for the remains of Morgan Harris and Marcedes Myran.
