WINNIPEG - Over 1,000 people marched through downtown Winnipeg on the weekend, carrying signs calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
Participants in the rally on Saturday also demanded the provincial and federal governments provide additional aid to the thousands of residents who have been impacted by the violence.
The march was briefly derailed by about a dozen counter-protesters who stood at the Legislature.
Police were monitoring and intervened so the opposing sides did not clash.
