Care Home Shelters

Manitoba Post StaffNews

WINNIPEG – The province will spend $18 million to build all-season outdoor shelters at personal care homes.

They will be built by PCL Construction, a Manitoba company, and they should be in use by November.

Shipping containers will be refitted so visitors can enter from outside while residents gain access through the home.

Health Minister Cameron Friesen says the shelters will allow visits from family and friends during flu season and a possible second wave of COVID-19.
