10 Year Sentence For Winnipeg Hammer Attack

10 Years For Hammer Attack

WINNIPEG - A judge has handed a Winnipeg man a 10 year prison sentence for an unprovoked hammer attack.

31 year old Jerry Kipling was convicted earlier this year of aggravated assault in May of 2020 when a 15 year old boy was jumped while buying a pizza.

Provincial court judge Murray Thompson says it's been catastrophic for the boy who lost the use of his right arm, now has a stutter and must wear a helmet to protect his brain.

Judge Thompson also points out that Kipling shows no remorse for what he did and seems unwilling to change his ways.
