Jets Lose in Philly

WINNIPEG - Will the real Winnipeg Jets please stand up? The Philadelphia Flyers embarrassed the Jets 3-1 last night and aside from the line of Connor-Dubois-Perfetti, the team that hit the ice last night at the Wells Fargo Centre looked nothing like the team that beat St. Louis on Saturday afternoon.

Kyle Connor scored on Carter Hart on the very first shot of the game 48 seconds in, and the Jets managed to keep the Flyers off the scoreboard until 10:42 into the second period when Travis Konecny beat Connor Hellebucyk to tie the game up. In the third, it was all Philadelphia as James van Riemsdyk scored the eventual game winner at 15:51. Oskar Lindblom added an empty netter to seal the win for the Flyers. Hellebucyk who is now winless in about three weeks made 33 saves, Philly’s Hart stopped 32 of the 33 shots he faced.

The Jets don’t play again until next Tuesday as the team heads into the all-star break with a record of 18-17-7; their leading scorer Kyle Connor will represent the team in Las Vegas. Winnipeg faces the Minnesota Wild on February 8th at 7pm (TSN3, 680 CJOB/Power97).
