WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Jets once again let a close one get away by falling to the Dallas Stars 3-2 in overtime last night at American Airlines arena. Tyler Seguin scored 54 seconds into the extra frame on a play that required a review after it looked like Josh Morrissey managed to keep it out of the net but after checking the video, the officials determined it was a goal.
Blake Wheeler gave the Jets the lead in the first period and that held until Jamie Benn’s goal with under three minutes to go in the second. Winnipeg took a 2-1 lead early in the third when Mark Scheifele scored on a power play. Denis Gurianov tied it up for the Stars at 13:35, taking the game to overtime.
Dallas beat Winnipeg for the sixth consecutive time at home in the fourth straight game between the two clubs to go to overtime or a shootout, including all three this season.
The Jets road trip contunues tomorrow night against the Colorado Avalanche. The last time the two teams met in Denver, the Jets were whipped 7-1. Puck drop is 8pm (TSN3, 680 CJOB/Power 97).
