Jets Lose 6-1 In Florida

WINNIPEG - Yesterday was a sad day in the world of professional hockey after learning that Mike Bossy had passed away at the age of 65.

Winnipeg Jets fans will also remember April 15th 2022 as the day their hockey team threw in the towel on the 2021-22 season.

The Florida Panthers spanked the Jets 6-1 last night in Sunrise Florida to all but put the sunset on the Jets season. The Panthers outshot the Jets 43-31, with their net-minder Sergei Bobrovsky stopping 30. Connor Hellebuyck was yoinked after facing 26 shots and letting in 4 of them.

Jonathan Huberdeau lead the Panthers with 2 goals and an assist while Gustav Forsling added 2 goals of his own. Mason Marchment and Maxim Mamin also picked up goals. Nikolaj Ehlers was the Jets lone goal scorer in this lopsided tilt.

Winnipeg now face the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight at Amalie Arena. Puck drop is 6pm (Citytv, SNW, 680 CJOB/Power 97).
