WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Jets, after falling behind 2-0 early in the 1st period, scored four unanswered goals to snap a five-game losing streak with a 4-2 win against the Calgary Flames last night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
This was a completely different team than the one that left the ice in St. Paul Friday afternoon after being embarrassed by the Minnesota Wild. Kyle Connor scored two goals, including one that would be the game winner, Paul Stastny and Andrew Copp added goals as well. The Blake Wheeler haters get to have the day off as the Jets captain recorded 2 assists, including one on Connor’s game winner.
Connor Hellebuyck recovered from a shaky start and ended up with 34 saves. Calgary outshot the Jets 36-28; Hellebuyck’s strong play earned him the game’s 3rd star, Kyle Connor was the 1st star of the night.
The Jets hope to carry the momentum back home when they face the Arizona Coyotes tomorrow night at Canada Life Centre. Face off is at 6:30pm (SNW, 680 CJOB/Power 97).
