WINNIPEG - After an emotionally charged pre-game press conference with Mark Chipman and Kevin Cheveldayoff, Mark Scheifele returned to the line up after missing the last five games and scored the deciding goal in the shoot-out to give the Winnipeg Jets a 4-3 win over the Dallas Stars at Canada Life Centre last night.
With Connor Hellebucyk out of the line up becoming a dad, Eric Comrie stopped 24 shots in regulation time and 2 in the shootout for his second win in as many starts. Jets took a 3-1 lead into the third period but the Stars Jason Robertson and Tyler Seguin tied things up to send the game into overtime. The extra 5 minutes didn’t solve anything prior to the shootout.
In addition to Scheifele, the Jets got regulation time goals from Paul Stastny, Josh Morrissey, and Pierre-Luc Dubois. The Jets now have picked at least 1 point in their last 7 games.
Winnipeg’s homestand continues Friday night when they host the Chicago Blackhawks at 7pm (TSN 3, 680 CJOB/Power 97)
